USA jail uses micro-grid power supply

escn.com.cn News: the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, California, USA has 19 buildings and 4000 inmates, micro-grid is supplying daily use of power for the jail. It is known that Chevron Corporation is in charge of installation of all devices except Solaria, and providing energy solutions. The micro-grid can be run isolated for over 8 hours and can be used for charging energy storage devices at night when the electricity price is low, then use the stored power at the time when electricity price is high. It saves about 100,000 USD every year for the jail. It is reported that the energy solution totals 11.7 million USD, among which, 2 million USD is provided by California Energy Commission, 6.9 million USD is provided by Department of Energy, and the rest is provided by the California Public Utilities Commission and “Mega-jail” 5th largest in U.S.
